69 SeaCraft CC/Bowrider Restoration
I have been slowly working on tearing down a Moseley hull which I was told began life as a bowrider. I have a few threads on THT as well but figured it would make sense to post the work here as well as it might yield a little more expertise on the specifics of SeaCrafts.
Essentially, what started as a leaking fuel tank beneath the deck turned into where I am at the moment. The deck material was a bit of a mystery, some sort of rigid foam product that was poorly supported. Thanks to some fantastic insight from dirtwheelsfl, there is no liner and the enclosed transom and associated live well etc. needs cut out to get back to a solid start. I cut out whatever foam product (another rigid foam) that was used for raising the deck height and to create structure which was a real science experiment. At the point of trying to get the clunky rear end out but not sure whether I will mess up the cap, or make things worse (if that's possible) or whether it's just a guessing game and best thing is to cut carefully but just to dig in. I included pictures of the rear end, the live well and associated structure for any insight anyone might have. I would like to get to the point of using Coosa (or comparable) to raise the original stringers and structure with Carbon Core 1" honeycomb deck. |
