maiden voage of my restored 1978 20 MA
With the help of so many forum members I completed the restoration of my 1978 MA 20 last week. What started as a repower, rewire and clean turned into a new transom, decks, console restoration, all new electronics, leaning post, new fuel tank and complete dock and safety refit. Took her boat camping off of cape cod over the labor day weekend and she performed flawlessly. It was worth every penny and every hour I spent grinding, cutting, swearing and drinking.
Thanks everyone for your advice! |

Thanks. I only painted the transom after replacement. The boat was painted red sometime in the 80's (originally it was white). At first I was not enthralled with the color, but I've come to appreciate it being different. Up in my part of the northeast, it's not to common to see any red boats that aren't Coast Guard. At ten feet, the boat looks mint, but upon close inspection you can see 20 years or so of wear on the hull paint. This is my first SeaCraft and I couldn't be happier with the way the boat turned out.

She sure looks nice. You did a remarkable job.
I love the red with the black. My Tsunami is the same color(original red).Guys tell me they can see my boat a long long way. The coast guard of both the US. and Canada are pretty active on the Great Lakes and I've had a lot of other boats tell me they kept their distance from me because they thought I was a coast guard boat. It works for me, less traffic when we're fishing.
