Default SeaCraft ID.

I've just started dismantling the transom of my '79 23' CC. As of now we will be replacing the transom from the outside in. What do you do with the SeaCraft ID number stamped in the transom? Can it be or should it be transferred to the new transom?

I would save it for sure if possible, just make a mold off of it and then press it back into you new lay up and it will mirror the image back to he hull in the new glass. Or you can try to cut it out and glass the small section back to the new one. Last option is to take a piece of aluminum and stamp the numbers into it and then apply that to the back of the hull. several ways to do it but I would try to make it look original by re-applying it to the new glass.
