21 or 23 trailer bunk question
I have a 21 Seacraft on a magic tilt all roller trailer. The rollers and hardware for them need replacing, so I think now is the time to change it to a bunk trailer. Do any of you have any pictures of how your 21 or 23 Seacraft's trailer is set up. I especially would like to see where the bunks are positioned and what size the bunk boards are. Any help would be appreciated. I'll be doing this myself since it's not worth paying $600-800 to have this done. Thanks

I had the same trailer and got tired of roller maintenance, so did a (very) cheap conversion to bunks. Used 2 treated 2X12s bolted together, beveled on top to approximate the hull deadrise, and capped with "slicks/glides". Keel pads, similar to the "slicks/glides", go on top of the trailer frame cross members to protect the keel when loading. This is clearly not as attractive as carpeted bunks, but works nearly as well.
Some may say "no bow support", but I have yet to see a boat lift with bow support.

Thanks for the info. I had talked with a trailer sales and service shop about them doing this for me and had decided to let them do it but then he says I have to have the boat off the trailer. How the heck can they know what size and length bunks to use and the distance between them without the boat. I must be missing something. If I have to take the boat off the trailer I may as well do this myself. Thanks again.

This is my bunk trailer. I had a roller trailer and bought a bunk trailer because the ramp near my house is very nice. I love the bunks and the torsion springs, MINIMAL maintenance. The trailer is an Owens from Florida and the price of the all aluminum trailer plus freight was very competitive with local trailers that I don't think were as nice. In MA we don't need brakes with a trailer this size so it requires little maintenance.

Owens and Sons
There are a lot of good Boat Trailer manufacturers in Florida because we "dunk them in" all year round. Owens and Son's is the Duck Dynasty of boat trailer builders here because they know their Sh** and maintain evertyhing they ever built. They have a good product and are just too funny. Their customers love dealing with them.
