yanmar problems
Looking for so addvice on a thread repair I have on the side of the engine block there's a nub that comes off and the oil pressure sensor hose comes out of. I found a large oil leak coming from it so I looked at it and there's A large piece that actually Brock off so I was wondering would it be better to take a tap and thread it in further past the break (yes it threads) or cut of the excess and then thread it what's that safest way?

Heynow, believe you have a 6lp block; I would suggest calling Mack Boring, they should know that block inside and out. It may be a known issue and would think they can suggest best repair option. Good luck, wish I had that engine in my '78 23' Sceptre.

Post a pic if you can....
You might be able to Heli Coil the damaged section if there is enough meat left in the block...

I'm thinking thread what you have if you can get it started... the helicoil would require drilling a larger hole and you already have the hole there...? the picswill help greatly on any suggestions given...

Can barely see it were it is located but was able to get. It I needed to use a machined thread ( 3/8" 24) instead of npt then I took a 1/8" blk nipple cut threads off then rethread it with same size then when I install it I'll use a metal epoxy seal it on the block at least this thread won't crack the block
