trim tabs
mounting new trim tabs on a 76 sf20 and the directions say to set the blade height 1/2 inch above parallel to the hull. wondering since these instructions are for a boat without a step would i be better off to set them parallel? thanks.............

What brand? Ideal is what Blue Heron fabbed. 1/2" higher makes no sense to me personally. Like sending Dennis Rodman to N. Korea. Why?

Thats the way I mounted the Bennets on mine. Trim response is immediate and doesn't take much. Come over and have a look.

They want the tab 1/2" above parallel so there's no chance of burying the bow when they are all the way up. Even with 1/2" up you should still have plenty of travel. I can't see where it would hurt to have them parallel though.
