ive done enough work with d/a's (orbital sanders) to build noah's ark out of a tree and i can tell you there is no rational for spending that kind of money on a sander unless your hourly rate will cover the price in one hour. for light weight sanding stick to a pnumatic sander. dont waste the money. a $60 porter cable d/a will do everything u need (except walk ur dog)

I agree goggle. I have the proter cable and it has been doing all I need it to. It has a 5" sticky back. The only reason I did the sticky was someone gave me a bunch of 5" 80 grit sticky pads. I have a pnuematic kobalt 6" with hook and loop pad that is a good sander too. Used it on my 23' and it still has plenty of life left. It was like a $50 sander too.

I got some cheap refurb rigid sanders. 5 inch orbital and 18 inch belt together were under $80. Both fit with the rigid vacuum I already have.

One trick I figured out is to take a bungie cord and hook both sides over the gunnel. Then put the sander in the loop. Now you just have to move the sander around, bouncing on bungie, instead of holding it up the whole time.

I have long and short bungies, which seems to be enough (connect them end to end) to cover most the sides and bottom.
