Default pilot house ?

anybody have a 23 cc with a pilot house ?

would like to see a few pics-gonna get some ideas working...

next season, after fishin's done-gonna pull the sea craft in the shop-deck's soft in a few spots.while i'm recoring the deck,i had an idea a few weeks ago,of putting a pilot house in it.after freezing my butt off winter wreck fishing, for a few seasons-last trip was friday 1/28/11-cold,snow,and freezing rain-i decided enough is enough.gonna build a pilot house-instead of the console and the t-top-i wanna keep the back open-winter fishing,i'll have a "drop back" made, plan on adding a small "buss heater",using the fresh water coolant system...

anybody make this mod ?

There have been a few, especially up on the Cape, mostly commercial or REAL serious sport guys. Also kerneltugboat (I think), put a put a hard pilothouse he found off an Aqua Sport, looked real good!

Do a search and I'm sure you'll find some. I think a "Coastie" who went by the name Chance123 did one to his 23' inboard.

Anyone else out there that can confirm, deny or add to this info?

Nice guy Joe from Brigantine has a really nice pilothouse bracketed 23'. JoeR I think knows how to get a hold of him, he slips down the way from him.

I will be building one out of divinycell or nida core in the next few weeks. Nothing special, commercial grade, but I am going to integrate a new console and engine box into it. 3 windows. It's going to look a little like this. If anyone has any constructive criticism as to what to use or how to build it, I am all ears. [image][/image]

After seeing those pics have you snooping around my neck of the woods?
That white 23 is owned by the welder at Nauset Marine he fabricates some nice towers! That is one of Nauset's houses, they have the mold for 'em.

There seams to be an increased interest in pilot houses these days.

Yeah, I have been doing alot of research on them over the past 2 weeks. Those pictures of the 23' at anchor were sent to me by Brent the boats owner. I would buy one already made but my issue is that none of them seem to be a perfect fit. They would all need to be tweaked in certain ways to be what I want. That and the prices are way out of my budget. I am going to try and build and glass one with the help of a few friends. Hopefully I'll learn a few thing along the way.
Dan Stewart.

Trayder, we got to meet up some time. I saw you on the bank tuna fishing once or twice last year and did not realize that was you in the conch. A conch 27 would be my dream boat.....someday. I also think that you may fish with one of my cousins friends. Small world. Steve's 27 is pretty much how I want my 23' to look like minus the pul-pit. I was thinking of using the nida core or divinycell for the front and two sides. It's the top that is going to be tough. I want a slight curve to the top, I was told they don't look very well with a flat top. I plan on buying the window's from the same place that warthog and chance got theirs from.
John, don't worry about the pic, Brent has been really helpful and instrumental with helping me so far come up with ideas about my build.

Oh yeah and one of the sickest Conch 27's ever is for sale. Only one ever built with a full keel.

Read it front to back in it's entirety twice. Great read but I wish the pictures were still up.
