Renovation estimates
I don't even have a Seacraft yet but a 23' CC came up for sale in my area. I'm trying to estimate the worse case costs for different items. I feel like I'm wasting the time of the local shop getting a quote since I don't own it yet and I don't need exact numbers just ruff ballpark figures. I've searched and there is a lot of info to filter through, maybe I'll find some info tonight when I have more time but if you guys can help I'd appreciate it. I've got a good idea on paint/gelcoat, upholstery, miscellaneous wiring/electrical, new pumps, motors, but I have no ideas on the items below.
Stringer Replacement- Floor/Deck Replacement (raised)- $1,500? Gas Tank Replacement (Alum.)- $2,000? Transom Replacement- $1,500? Transom (full height) w/ Bracket addition- $4,500-$6,000 ($3,000 for Hermco bracket only) |

Re: Renovation estimates
I would say your off a litte....Are you doing the work yourself?
I just had two estimates for a 23 done. This is buy professional shops in south florida. 1st- 8000.00 thats a new deck using plywood and repairing all the hatches and a new transom. the stringers should not need much work if any, as long as they are the box foam filled. refinish the interior from the rub rail in with awl-grip and new non-skid. This also includes me de-rigging the boat my self. The second estimate was 8500 As far as the full transom and bracket not sure have not priced that! that should give you an idea! |

Re: Renovation estimates
I would agree, estimates are off, they are too low on some, to high on others.

Re: Renovation estimates
im going to start doing my 23 myself soon. ill probably put 10K into it. it needs paint, floor, transom, wire, engine rebuild, electronics, etc. 10K is being modest. i know it will be more than that.

Re: Renovation estimates
If you check out my thread you will see what I have gotten done so far.
Total cost in just materials so far is approx. $7k. That does not include the 1k for soda blasting. I already have about 3k into hardware etc. gas tank, fittings and so on. I think you will get the picture...$$$ Quoting some one else "All this for a boat ride"

Thanks this gives me a better picture of what to expect.
