Replacing bunk supports and galv. corrosion Q`s.
Well class I am starting on my winter to do list and my oh my it has been growing. Should`ve posted this sooner.
I am replacing the bunk supports as they are badly corroded. Picked up some new alluminum supports,SS hardware, carpet, and monel staples. Got a guy to torch it all in the AM. I am slowly getting smarter. The cross members are corroded a little. The guy I bought my Bimini from had a float on trailer from the 70`s.The original owner brushed all the hardware with something grey, and all hardware is galvanized and looks new. Wasn`t a galvanizing product, but the name of the product escapes me. Anyone? He`s moved of course and I didn`t write it down. Would Tuf Gel last in this application? POR 15? All thoughts and suggestions are, as always, much apppreciated. Cheers, GFS |

Re: Replacing bunk supports and galv. corrosion Q`s.
Sandy
BTW: Tef gel is needed where the S/S hardware meets against the aluminum.
