Default seafari bilge thru-hull

Adding a second bilge line, it will have its own discharge. Existing discharge thru-hull is an elbow on starboard side about 6" from transom, tight space in liner really does require an elbow. The stock through-hull is a bronze (brass?) elbow, looking to duplicate for new bilge discharge (1-1/8") on starboard.

Rule makes an elbow but it is high impact plastic, really prefer metal. Any recommendations on where I can find a decent match or even stainless thru-hull elbow?

Hey Rhody, Try these guys.

All the boat building going on there, I'm sure you can find these locally for less.
Maybe Rich at Cape Marine Supply can source you a deal.

Good luck. Saw your cap leak post - going through the same deal...

Thanks Gilly, that one all the other decent elbows I see are 1" or 1-1/4", not 1-1/8". May just have to go with a straight fitting which there are plenty of and try to get the hose in there.

Rhody,
I may be mistaken but I think the measurement given for the elbow fitting (1") would be its inside diameter. It's gotta have some thickness to support a hose clamp so its outside diameter is probably right about 1-1/8". The 1-1/8" bilge hose should have a snug fit over the barbed nipple for clamping.

Hope I didn't over think this

I went to the specs at the Groco web site, actually you have to be careful. The elbows like you found - the pipe OD matches up with hose ID.

For the straight through hull fittings you can order either of 2 models for each fitting size. For example the 1" straight fitting has two models, one for 1" hose the other for 1-1/8" hose. Go figure.

Alright Rhody,
Here's my final offer but you're gonna have to ante-up, see if this works.

Here's where this ended up. $200+, about 4 hours install to add a second, independent bilge pump. Rule 2000 dedicated discharge and runs off 2nd battery. At 8+ amps you wouldnt want this running off the battery alone for very long. I see this basically as a back-up/redundant/emergency set-up that hopefully is never needed.

The aft pump is the existing Rule 1500, runs off the other battery. I put the float on a wedge wood block glassed and painted, sits about 2" higher than the other float. The two will give a theoretical pumping capacity of 3500 gph, actual probably closer to 2500. We will do the old bucket test later after the batteries are in.

The only waterproof panel switch I could find was Blue Seas, which is pricey. Right of the wheel.

SS through hull on the port side. Thanks again Todd.
