Default Warm Pacific

I’ve had a ton of fantastic days on the Pacific, but none like Monday.
We launched from Newport, went south to the Dana headlands and then
headed out 1/2 way across the channel.
The water was glassy all day and the sea was alive with dolphins, sunfish,
pelicans and dozens of huge bait balls.
The surface temps hovered between 78 and 80 F, which led
to frequent man overboards.
I’ve NEVER seen the local waters this warm.
If we break into the 70s, it’s unusual.
To see 80 degrees in the middle of the channel was a huge surprise!
The SeaFari behaved perfectly, breaking the 100 hour mark with grace.
We ended up at Woody’s for dinner and margaritas, and got back to the
launch ramp well after dark. We covered almost 80 miles with nary a hiccup.

It was a day I’ll never forget, and I have my friends to thank for doing
all the heavy lifting.
ALS can kiss my butt; I’ve got lots of easy water ahead.

Dogbomb-
Was happy to hear about your great day. A lot of this I call “memory building”!
I keep my wife informed about our fellow, yellow Seafari friend from the west coast. Just had a younger friend take a job with SpaceX. Think he moved near MAnhattan Beach. Told him about your trips to the Colorado River as he moved his Malibu boat with him. He is quite good on a wakeboard and his wife is terrific on slalom.
Best wishes!

Dogbomb,

It is inspiring to see you enjoying your CSC Seafari which gives me more incentive to finally buy one and do the same.

Best wishes to you for more days on the water like that.

David

I’m down San Diego and in 27 years of spearfishing and surfing I’ve never seen the water this warm. I love it. Also love your boat!!! Your boat looks great.

Very happy to see you enjoying your boat and time with your friends. I can only dream of water temps in the 80's!

Great trip, Dogbomb! Glad to see you are doing well. In Jersey, we have had rain on 9 of the last 14 weekends, so my hours on the Seafari are way down. Cheers!
