Need to add a transom drain plug
So I'm going through a full restoration on a 1975 20 CC. I just realized the shop forgot to add a transom drain plug. I need to drill a new one and was wondering if anyone has done this before and has recommendations on how to handle it. size, fitting, location etc.

Drill it at least 1/4" larger then back fill it with thicken resin then re drill it the correct size. This will give you a good sealed hole.

Same idea different twist--I also drilled oversized and used resin to set in a PC of a old fiberglass outrigger tube I had laying around

I wouldn't think so. another advantage of a poured transom.

I installed a garboard drain plug assembly thru the bottom of the keel versus out the transom. Therefore, the bilge can be drained while on a lift or a trailer from within the boat without climbing underneath. This also helps maintain the integrity of the transom from water intrusion
