using starboard to close transom notch?
Hi
Has anyone closed in their transom notch on a 1976 18ft using starboard? I am switching out my scuppers to the ping pong style and would also like to limit the amount of water that comes over the 20" transom. I don't have the money to close the transom and replace my motor so I am doing what I can. Looking for some ideas or better yet pictures of doors/gates installed on either side of an engine made of starboard and is removable. Thanks Tim |

Yes mine one on each side 4 to 5" and they work great - mine are 1/2" and are set in a 1/2" rail slot runner - not sure how to describe it

Thanks for the replies. Wish I had the money to have the whole boat rebuilt at that Babylon boat works, it looks like they do a beautiful job. Looking at what they did gave me a good idea of what I want.

Nope its a 20 footer. I raised the transom from 20" to 25" but wanted the splash well to be protected even more from the tide pushing you one way and the waves coming another.
The walleye fisherman use these up north for back trolling. The company White Caps custom build them for your application. Brian Berle is the owner's name at [email protected]. The total cost including shipping was $194. After using them this summer, I really, really like them. Google them up and give them a call. |
