Default Teflon bunk pads

I've been doing some reading about Teflon pads and stumbled across this brand

http://www.surfixinc.com/surfix_trai...des.html#order

I'm having a lot of difficulty loading and unloading my 23 scepter and the idea of being able to push my boat off the trailer in less water is very appealing. In less water I won't have to worry about the stern floating forcing the forward portion of the keel to thump on the cross member.

If I were to install these I know the hazards of sliding off the trailer and would take the proper precautions to prevent it.

What I'm curious of anyone run into problems with hull damage or anything ?

I spray mine with liquid rollers. I don't think I could push it off by hand but it makes loading/unloading really easy.

I'm hoping I can launch with the trailer less submerged.

With the spray how deep do you have to launch ?

You have to be careful with that too, we had a guy drop an expensive bass boat in the parking lot. Maybe put an extra roller on that cross member, I know what your talking about but mine has a roller there. Its not in contact with hull at full load but keeps it from banging while loading.

Boats bow heavy and bends the roller.

I didn't want to raise the outer bunks any higher than I had to. I didn't want to hit the crossmembers if I wasn't deep enough or whatever. I made short aux. bunks that cushion and center without a roller. I had a roller on the last boat and I like this better. All my bunks get sprayed with liquid rollers. Your "how deep" question really depends on the ramp steepness also so kind of hard to answer. The rear top of my fenders are above the water at the normal ramp.

I think I may just have to suck it up and put another set of forward bunks on the trailer

I am starting to think that might be the best choice, I keep seeing boats on trailers with V shaped bunks for the bow. But even with one set like in the picture above would be better than what your dealing with now. Its not necessarily the launching, but the loading and drilling the bow into that Xmemeber.
