Question old yamaha 200 carburated

Hi: my outboard work great until is tilted to pass a shalow area, the motor quit and take a lot of cranks to start again, somebody had a clue?

A buddy of mine had an '87 200 that didn't like to start unless it was tilted at a certain angle. I'll ask him if he ever figured out the reason. He got rid of the boat a couple years ago but I'm sure he remembers what the problem might have been.

I realize this isn't the same issue as yours but it could be related.
