Re: fuel capacity 74 i/o with baitwell
Happy New Year, missamy, and welcome aboard. Very possibly a previous owner converted it to better fit their personal fishing needs. Might posts some pics - maybe someone on the board is familiar with the boat or its previous owner.

Re: fuel capacity 74 i/o with baitwell
I have a 1974 23 Tsunami I/O and it came from the factory with a 55 gallon fuel tank.It is clearly stamped 55 gallons on the tank, and it was made in Hialeah Florida.
Does yours look like this, with the bait well in front of the motor box? I use it for the batteries. The hatch cover with the seal keeps any water out, even in a driving rain or spray from the washdown.

Make sure you take a bunch of pics and post them on here.... There are not NEARLY enough sceptre/tsunami projects on here IMO
Curious what one looks like with a bracket anyway.

Re: fuel capacity 74 i/o with baitwell
thanks for your input ! yes the bait well is in front of the motor box like yours he's been working on the transome ,pulled the cap, removed all the plywood from the interior, gelcoat and glassed outdrive opening, currently layering in new marine plywood and has armstrong bracket on order!!!!So next is removingthe fuel tank, he's worried about capacity and placement will be putting four stroke yamaha 225 or 250 on it and has plans for long runs offshore.I told him he needs 100 gallons to be safe. I only have a few pics ,have to try to figure out how to post them.
