Default Who wants boat porn?????

ive finally got the ball rolling on my 87 23' CC. got the motor off this weekend and took the console out. this week i took up the fuel tank hatch to reveal a 2002 fuel tank 99 gallons. it has a few cancer spots on it. the way it was installed was with wood wedged between it and the stringers. the was just a little foam so it came out pretty esay. when it came out i found some stringer problems. i think that it can be fixed. let me know about options for the stringers. i removed the aluminum trim around the transom and found a big crack at each corner. i used a 3/4" pole bit to drill some tests. the wood seems to be damp but not soaking wet. going to dusky boats this weekend to look at a bracket. i will finsih removing all the little stuff before any cutting begins. look at the pics below. I guess you finally found the time to start
Whats nice is the the weather will start changing and you won't be working in the 90+ degree heat.

Good luck on the project and keep the pisc coming!

I also plan to "re start" mine soon maybe I can have some good progress by Christmas and Santa can drop of a nice engine

Looks like most '87 era boats.
For some reason, there were a lot of hull/stringer disconnects in these years. Clean it up good, and use epoxy to stich the stringers back to the hull.
Check the gas tank platform, mine was wet and weighed over 150 pounds.

That`s brutal. I had a slight delam on my port stringer. Top layer only 3"x15". Might wanna use woven over the 1708.

how do you think id go about fixin that? i was thinking of digging all the foam out and refilling it and letting it expand out the side and form the foam so i have something to lay the glass against. starting with 3/4oz chopped strand and work my way up to bigger glass.
