Default Bracket help

Hey guys,

I have access to an Armstrong twin engine full flotation bracket, and am trying to see if it can work on a 23ft Master Angler CC.

The specs are 3 1/2ft setback, and a 13 degree angle.

Is the setback to much for this boat?
How about the Angle?

I know the shorter the setback the better, but was trying to see how much I could get away with.
without effecting the handling negatively.
Is it worth using, or to much of a hassle to get it dilled in?

Thanks for your help.

13 degrees is fine. 36 + 6 = 42" setback . . . are you sure????? I've never heard of such long bracket. Most brackets are 30".

I saw thous # written inside of the bracket.
I will take a tape and measure it tomorrow, and post the #s.

Thanks

Ok I went out and got some measurements today.

The setback is 30in not 42in.
The span of the mounting surface is 42in.
It is 6ft wide.
The hight of the bracket from the lowest part (the V) to the highest part, were the engine bolts up is 19in.

Also my engine is a 25in shaft motor. I know the Hermco twine engine bracket requires using a 30in shaft motor, is the Armstrong brackets the same? can my engine work with this bracket?

I will try to get up some pics,
thanks for the help

It should work fine, however it's going to make for a little rougher ride being as it is moving the balance point farther aft.

Ok,

Just an update for a future reference for others.

According to Armstrong a twin engine bracket must be mounted 23in up from the bottom of the transom, to work with a 25in shaft motor.

Because of this mounted hight the bracket sits to low, and comes below the transom of the boat. So it cannot work.

I guess I will be keeping my transom open.

Thank for the help everyone.

On my Sceptre, my bracket mounted about 2" below the cut out opening and worked great. I left the opening open and that made it really easy to get from the boat to the beach. Why are you saying that yours won't work below the opening?
