Default blackfin26's Hiliner 222

Hey Gang,
Blackfin26 has been kind enough to share some pix of another classic rebuild. The Hiliner 222 is one of my favorite boats (note one of). I know you guys who appreciate the smell of resin and the taste of dust will enjoy his project. I'll let Steve chime in with the details of the build.

John, Those look great...I've got a few more around someplace as well. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your engine. Someday I'll be in a 23 SC, Steve

Silly question?

Why is the pad on the transom behind the out drive?

Good question...The transom on Hiliners is curved and not flat...Needed to build it up to mount the outdrive. Steve

Beautiful boat. I've always been a fan of Hiliners. I saw one like this at the Green Harbor ramp yesterday named Sashimi. It had a RI registration. Anyone know the boat?

Yeah thats a nice job. There is a 22 Hiliner windshield model with outboard on craigslist southcaost massachusetts in somerset for 1200.00. Thats low money for a nice hull.

Steve - I've heard more than one person say the difference in the ride b/w the Hiliner 222 and the 23 seacraft is not much. Great Job with the restore!!

Big, Good to know...amazingly I got into this project on the rec of two diehard Hiliner friends. They said I won't be sorry...Just a few buck later!...I hope their right. It's a very cool boat and totally custom at this point.

Thought I'd bump this thread with photos of my Hiliner...now for sale! Hermit was kind enough to post them here for me a while back. I'll work on getting new photos on the add as well. Cheers.

Great boat! The Hiliner 222 is essentially a 1960's Bertram 20 hull which some experts say is the best riding 20 foot hull ever made and I tend to agree. I've never seen it in an open configuration before and it looks very nice. Great job with the resto and enjoy her!
